Singers Saving Grace

I’ve known I wanted to sing for as long as I could remember. Running around as a gay in training, singing Paula Abdul hits, something about it just felt right. Maybe it was just the captivating melody of Rush Rush or the saucy beat of Cold Hearted Snake, who knows? All I can tell you is that I knew one day I was gonna be a singer. The road that came was a really long fun one who’s story I’ll save for another time.

Fashionably Late

I would like to think that I have a knack for fashion. I mean, I have always somewhat had my own style and try to stay ahead of the trends or should I say what I think the trends are going to be as I don’t do any research…but let’s face it don’t we all think we are shnazzy dressers?!?!

Food Inspired Fashion

One of the great things about New York City has always been it’s style. Care free, individual, chic, and sometimes insane but always amazing in it’s own right. If you didn’t know Mercedes Benz Fashion Week is upon us and it got me thinking about all those crazy couture gowns, the hot men, fierce celebrities, more hot men models, and food…Oh yea…and hot men.

Julia Child Lives!!

It’s true folks. She has been resurrected by the wonderful people at PBS! On what would’ve been her 100th birthday PBS released a video that I have absolutely obsessed with.

See for yourself…

You can also… “Visit pbs.org/food to join in the celebration, with additional videos, recipes and more. You can leave your own tribute to The French Chef by cooking a Julia recipe and sharing it on Facebook and Twitter with #CookForJulia.”

PBS has also done one for Mr. Rogers and Bob Ross. I think they all would’ve been proud of this remixing and bravo to our friends at PBS for bringing a fabulous new life to these legends!

Deliciously Living,

Tofu’s Big Break!

It’s always been my belief that if we don’t help each other out then who is going to help us at all? So when it came to my attention that Hell’s Kitchen local Japanese Dessert Bar, Kyotofu, has a chance at a major break, I wanted to lend as much support as possible!

What is that??!?! Velvet?

Now that i am fully recovered from Ursula (the cold that stole my voice for a week. Too bad there wasn’t a prince involved in helping me get it back) I figured I needed a sweet treat!

A couple weekends ago I went to visit my very good friends, The Lehman Family, at their beautiful home in Upstate New York. If you haven’t been upstate it is absolutely beautiful! Before i even got to the home I had received texts saying I wouldn’t be let in the house with out baked goods in hand. My hands are popular, what can I say? Little did they know that I had planned to use their state of the art kitchen to bake my big ol’ touchas off!

There is nothing better than a real kitchen equipped with every gadget imaginable! I made cookies, blondies, pancakes and more! That family didn’t know what hit them! Inspired by that weekend and my first time making blondies, I decided to make them again but this time with a Gay Gourmet!™ twist!

Yup folks you guessed it…RED VELVET! not only red velvet but also OREO STUFFED!! WHAT!?!?!?!? I guess I can’t call them blondies so how about Velveties?

Duckies – Snack of the Week!

A few days ago I was invited to an event at a lovely healthy fast food joint called 4Food. 4Food is a restaurant that prides itself in providing food that has been “de-junked.” In laymen’s terms, food that is a healthy option, quickly!

In an effort to continue spread their message that all food that is fast does not have to be bad for you they decided to battle National Junk Food Day with a “De-Junk Food Day!” Along with their regular healthy menu showcasing at their restaurant on 40th and Madison were a lovely handful of healthy options. One of favorites being Little Duck Organics.
